A 10-minute qualifying session format will be used. Qualifying order will be determined by using each driver’s ‘3-fastest consecutive lap average’.
Drivers do not need to be on track for the entire 10-minute session.
Setup changes are allowed during the qualifying session, tire compound changes are legal, refreshing tire sauce, spring changes, etc.
If a driver is happy with their lap times within the first few minutes, they are allowed to pull off the track and head back to the pits.
Drivers are not allowed to change cars during qualifying. They must choose one car and use it for the entire qualifying session (only ‘setup’ changes are allowed).
10-minute sessions should allow every driver to have an equal opportunity to put in 3 consecutive fast laps.
Drivers will participate in QTY: 3 '8-minute' race stages. Each will be scored separately and added up for a final total at the end of the day.
Pit Stops:
There are 2 mandatory pit stops in each Main Event. A driver can pull in for your pit any time after completing Lap 1. Pit stops must be completed by the end of the race.
Pit Lane Procedure:
After entering the designated pit lane, a sticker will be placed on the front of the vehicle (location at the pit bosses discretion). It is up to the driver to make sure he safely re-enters the race. Failure to complete both pit stops during a race will accrue a 10-lap penalty (per pit) off the results of that race.
New for 2025:
Driver's must stop within the designated pit box! It has been unsafe for cars to slam into barriers, hitting people, and/or revving their motors while pit marshals are working on the vehicle. If a driver comes into pit lane and is not able to stop within the pit box, they will not receive a pit sticker and will need to try again.
UF1 Championship Points uses a 50 – 1 points system in 1 point increments. For example:
1st – 50pts
2nd – 49pts
3rd – 48pts
4th – 47pts
5th – 46pts
etc.
Points are allocated to all the racers after each full race Main has concluded. It is possible for a Group B or C driver to win the Round if his or her overall race time is faster than the racers in Group A. Drivers not using the control tire will not be eligible for UF1 Championship Points.
Fastest Lap Point:
The driver with the fastest single lap for each race day will receive +5 additional UF1 Championship Points (Qualifying laps do not count).
Concours Points:
UF1 will hold a concours at the beginning of each round. Concours is optional and racers do not have to participate. Winner of each round will be selected by the race announcer. The winner will receive +5 additional UF1 Championship Points.
[winner of concourse MUST race with the body to receive an extra point. Extra point will not be added if the body is not raced]
Tie Breaker:
Should 2 or more drivers tie in points at the end of an event, the tie breaker will be determined using the driver's fastest overall time of the day.
UF1 throwout system is based on the number of races in each Season. It is encouraged to allow driver’s a chance to win the overall should they have a bad race, family emergency, etc. Number of throwouts will be announced at the beginning of each Season.
2025 throw-outs will be the racers 3 worst main event results.
